Jeremiah Trujillo

Piano & Voice Instructor

About Jeremiah

Hello there! My name is Jeremiah Trujillo, and I teach piano and voice at the San Ramon Academy of Music. I am an active collaborative pianist, vocal coach, soloist, and historical musicologist with a Ph.D. in Music from the University of California, Davis.

I serve as the staff collaborative pianist for the Music and Theater Arts departments at Las Positas College. Since fall 2021, I have been the accompanist for Pacific Edge Voices, a Berkeley-based semi-professional chorus.

My accolades include a special prize at the 2013 San Francisco Young Pianists Competition, the 2018 Faculty Recognition Award for Excellence in Musical Performance at UC Davis, and the 2014 Eisner Prize for Music from UC Berkeley. I have also participated in master classes with distinguished artists such as Jon Nakamatsu and Nelita True.

In my lessons, I maintain a high musical standard while ensuring the learning process is enjoyable. With over 10 years of teaching experience, I have studied piano with Ronald Cole, Dr. Alexander Tutunov, and Jacqueline Chew, and harpsichord with Katherine Heater and Davitt Moroney.

Outside of teaching, I enjoy playing golf, walking, cooking, watching YouTube, and reading. I look forward to sharing my passion for music with you and helping you on your musical journey!

Book With Jeremiah

“I didn’t want my son to be turned off to piano because of all the practicing. Lots of work but not a ton of play. James brings enthusiasm and joy to the discipline. He picked up my son’s style and personality, and could flow according to my son’s uniqueness/playfulness.”

“My biggest concern is if my kids don’t enjoy and have no progress over a significant amount of lessons time. So far your role as a teacher has been very helpful in making my kids interested & focused on their lessons”
