About Kimberly

Hello there! My name is Kimberly, and I am thrilled to share my passion for music and the arts with my students. For the past eight years, I’ve been fostering growth and a love for the visual arts and music, and I bring that enthusiasm to every lesson.

My violin journey includes two years playing with the Grand Rapids Youth Symphony, six summers at Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp in Twin Lakes, Michigan, on a merit scholarship, and serving as my school’s concertmaster for four years. Through these experiences, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for the art of bowing, good posture, and proper technique—key elements for excelling as a violinist.

Learning to play an instrument is such a rewarding experience for anyone. It teaches them how to set goals, work hard, and feel proud of their accomplishments. I’m excited to work with you and child and help them build a strong foundation for a lifelong love of music!

Book With Kimberly

“I didn’t want my son to be turned off to piano because of all the practicing. Lots of work but not a ton of play. James brings enthusiasm and joy to the discipline. He picked up my son’s style and personality, and could flow according to my son’s uniqueness/playfulness.”

“My biggest concern is if my kids don’t enjoy and have no progress over a significant amount of lessons time. So far your role as a teacher has been very helpful in making my kids interested & focused on their lessons”
