About Lauren
Hi. I’m Lauren Park and I teach piano, music theory, and composition lessons to students of all ages at the San Ramon Academy of Music.
My goal is fostering a lifelong passion for music in every one of my students. Through mentoring and collaboration, as well as tailoring the curriculum and lessons to accommodate each student’s learning style, every one of my students receives a well-rounded music education.
Born in Seoul, Korea, I began studying piano at age 4, and violin a year later. I won numerous national competitions, including the top prize at the Young Artist Music Competition.
I received my undergraduate degree under the supervision of Dr. Sara Laimon at McGill University and my Master’s in Music Education Research under the supervision of Dr. Isabel Cossette. Upon graduation, I worked as a piano faculty member and Suzuki certified instructor at the McGill Conservatory of Music in Montreal before moving to the United States.
I try my best to enjoy my life despite a busy schedule. I love dancing, hiking, skiing, and making and trying different foods!
Book With Lauren“I didn’t want my son to be turned off to piano because of all the practicing. Lots of work but not a ton of play. James brings enthusiasm and joy to the discipline. He picked up my son’s style and personality, and could flow according to my son’s uniqueness/playfulness.”
“My biggest concern is if my kids don’t enjoy and have no progress over a significant amount of lessons time. So far your role as a teacher has been very helpful in making my kids interested & focused on their lessons”
