About Shannon
Hi, I’m Shannon, and I’ve been teaching piano and voice for over 10 years. I hold a Master’s degree in Vocal Performance from California State University East Bay and a Bachelor’s degree in Vocal Performance from Whitman College. I’m an active member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) and Theatre Bay Area, which keeps me connected to both the educational and performance communities.
As a mezzo-soprano, I’ve had the pleasure of performing in operas, concerts, and musical theater productions. I’m also a frequent soloist with several East Bay church congregations, where I enjoy sharing my love of music with the community.
I currently live in San Ramon with my husband and our lively 9-year-old triplets, who keep life busy and joyful. My goal as a teacher is to combine my professional performance experience with an individualized approach that nurtures each student’s unique talent and love for music. Whether you’re interested in Classical, Musical Theater, or just discovering your voice or piano skills, I’m here to help you thrive on your musical journey!
Book With Shannon“I didn’t want my son to be turned off to piano because of all the practicing. Lots of work but not a ton of play. James brings enthusiasm and joy to the discipline. He picked up my son’s style and personality, and could flow according to my son’s uniqueness/playfulness.”
“My biggest concern is if my kids don’t enjoy and have no progress over a significant amount of lessons time. So far your role as a teacher has been very helpful in making my kids interested & focused on their lessons”
