About Amelia
Hi! I’m a classically trained vocalist and music educator originally from Philadelphia, PA. I grew up in a musical home and began playing violin at age three—my first “instrument” was a tissue box and paper towel roll to help me learn technique before using the real thing. I later switched to cello, spending over a decade playing strings before finding my true voice in singing.
My love for opera began early, watching Ingmar Bergman’s The Magic Flute. That fascination led me to earn a Bachelor of Music from Temple University and a Master of Music from the Boston Conservatory. I’ve performed with local and international ensembles, including The Philadelphia Orchestra and cultural tours across Europe and China.
Teaching
I’ve maintained a private voice studio for over ten years. My approach is holistic—I believe every student is unique, and it’s my job to meet you where you are and help you grow from there. I’m currently pursuing NASM personal training certification to better support the physical side of vocal training.
Whether you’re exploring your voice for the first time or preparing for auditions, I focus on building confidence, technique, and a deep connection to music.
A Little Extra
I’m a proud dog mom to Cinnamon, my mini labradoodle. I love travel, the beach, anime (especially One Piece), and collecting tattoos. When I’m not teaching or performing, I’m probably planning my next adventure—or heading to the shore.
Book With Amelia
“I didn’t want my son to be turned off to piano because of all the practicing. Lots of work but not a ton of play. James brings enthusiasm and joy to the discipline. He picked up my son’s style and personality, and could flow according to my son’s uniqueness/playfulness.”
“My biggest concern is if my kids don’t enjoy and have no progress over a significant amount of lessons time. So far your role as a teacher has been very helpful in making my kids interested & focused on their lessons”
