About Jerimiah
I’m a violinist and UCLA graduate who believes deeply in music as a shared, human experience. My work as a performer has taken me through a range of orchestral settings, and I’m currently a Fellow with the San Francisco Academy Orchestra, where I continue to grow as both a musician and collaborator.
Alongside my musical training, my time at UCLA included extensive study of life sciences. Exploring subjects like microbiology, developmental biology, and psychobiology shaped the way I think about learning and performance. Through this interdisciplinary lens—and my work with the Alexander Technique—I came to appreciate the powerful connection between body and mind and how awareness, ease, and curiosity can transform the way we approach the violin.
As an educator, I strive to create a supportive, thoughtful environment where students feel seen, capable, and encouraged to develop both technical skill and personal expression. I value clear communication, patience, and meeting students where they are, knowing that music grows best with a strong sense of trust and community.
When I’m not playing or teaching, you’ll find me reading, making coffee at my local café, or exploring the Bay Area.
Book With Jerimiah
“I didn’t want my son to be turned off to piano because of all the practicing. Lots of work but not a ton of play. James brings enthusiasm and joy to the discipline. He picked up my son’s style and personality, and could flow according to my son’s uniqueness/playfulness.”
“My biggest concern is if my kids don’t enjoy and have no progress over a significant amount of lessons time. So far your role as a teacher has been very helpful in making my kids interested & focused on their lessons”
