About Nika
I’m a violin teacher who loves helping students build a strong musical foundation while discovering the joy and confidence that come from making music. I work with beginner and intermediate students of all ages, and my lessons focus on healthy technique, musical expression, and creating an environment where students feel supported, motivated, and excited to learn.
With beginners, I emphasize posture, tone, and note reading through clear, engaging lessons that balance structure with creativity. For intermediate students, I guide the development of skills like vibrato, shifting, and phrasing while exploring repertoire that deepens both technical ability and musical understanding. My goal is always to meet students where they are and help them grow at a pace that feels challenging but encouraging.
I began studying violin at a young age and also work across several instruments, which shapes a flexible, well-rounded approach to teaching. My background outside of music has strengthened my creativity, organization, and communication, all of which I bring into the studio. I see teaching as a collaborative process and value building connections with students and families while fostering a lifelong appreciation for music within our community.
Book With Nika
“I didn’t want my son to be turned off to piano because of all the practicing. Lots of work but not a ton of play. James brings enthusiasm and joy to the discipline. He picked up my son’s style and personality, and could flow according to my son’s uniqueness/playfulness.”
“My biggest concern is if my kids don’t enjoy and have no progress over a significant amount of lessons time. So far your role as a teacher has been very helpful in making my kids interested & focused on their lessons”
